I am reading over these new 5th Edition rules and they are nice.
I mean really nice.
It's really like a "Best of D&D", all the things I liked about the past editions, built on top of Basic D&D and in a pretty package.
But I don't have the time to run more games. I have to wrap up my 3e game and my kids are playing in a 1st ed game. Both are what I want using the system I want.
I am considering converting my AD&D game over to 5e. I think I am going to wait for the Players Handbook. Others have suggested I just run a new 5e game. Personally I am trying to get my son to run a game or two.
What are your plans? Is anyone converting a current game over to 5e?

I'm not converting anything, but I am definitely all in on 5e. There's something for everyone in the edition and I think it will be a lot of fun.
After reading over the basic rules a couple of times, I have decided to run a 5E game, started doing the map for the campaign area yesterday.
I don't have a game running currently to convert, but 5E is my incentive to start a new campaign.
I don't think so. I'm pretty happy with Castles & Crusades and the rest of my lineup. There are some neat parts to 5e, but I think I'm pretty pleased and invested with what I have. I don't see me switching over, but maybe stealing a few parts for my game here and there.
I have been playing since 1st ed but had a hiatus during 4e. I really like the look of 5e and have decided to start a new game using it. My kids have reached the age where they could really get involved, with playing and running, so now is the time for them to develop their game along with the new system.
I'm not running or playing in any regular games.
Luckily one of the security guards and work really wants to start playing D&D so I've talked him into giving a 5E a go. I'm still trying to decide if I want to do my own setting or run through Tyranny of Dragons (which I have pre-ordered through my favorite shop).
I'm not currently running any D&D, but I've been playing in a Dragonlance-based Castles & Crusades game for the past few weeks. The DM is psyched about 5E and is considering switching when the PHB is released. I've loved it since I played it at Origins, so he'll get no objection from me.
The group I'm in are going to run a 5e mini campaign. Kick the tires so to speak. I like what I've read...except saves for death...WotC never wants anyone to die. But otherwise I like it.
Going to try and do a 5e campaign soon. Though, I think I might keep going with 2E and swap out things 5e.
I feel about like our host does, its best of D&D and seems to meet my needs very nicely.
Now i'm not going to be able to run for some time do to peculiarities with my group (we have 5 of 6 regular members who insist on DMing and thus we rotate monthly) however I fully plan to run 5e and if I find a different group, play it as well.
It will also be the first hardcover gaming book I've bought in an age, 1st Ghost of Albion if I can find one than 5e PH are coming up
Running 5E and dropping PF like a hot potato....I have my old campaigns, will put some work into upgrading/converting them when the three main books are out, so using a new campaign for now.
Right now I'm not running any D&D based game. Although I had a hitch for going back for a while now. Fact is that none of the past set-ups really worked for me as they are.
This 5th edition seem to work quite well for me (although it's not perfect and I'll probably HR it to death).
I'll finish the games I am currently running (Shadowrun) and will likely run 5E when the next campaign starts. By the time I do all the core books will be out so I'll have a better sense of the system by then.
However, as a side project I was writing a setting book for Savage Worlds which I will now do up as 5E.
I've got an ongoing DCC campaign and I'm not feeling any compulsion to run 5e. I'm sure I'll eventually experience it as a Player though... but our PF group seems pretty happy (though I'd love a change of pace myself).
Been playing since 1979.I rebooted my campaign as a 1E game after years of a homebrew engine (which I converted my old 1E game from in the middle of 2E), while it worked I still had to do a fair amount of work and I have a number of players who simply didn't dig the arcane nature of 1E.
So I've been looking at 5E with both interest and skepticism - and with the Starter Set and Basic PDF was really surprised to be won over for the most part. Plus my players, who I have been relating the various bits and pieces of stuff as I uncover them, have really liked the idea of how it sounds and how it works. So I'll wait till the PH shows up, but at this point I think I'll be converting over to 5E.
