Friday Night Videos: Summer of 1985

I will remember to this one right!

So continuing with the music of the time when the BECMI sets were new here is some music from 1985!

I created this playlist last year to celebrate the start of Stranger Things Season 3. Which, truth be told, has done a lot to get people back into D&D.

So here are the songs from then.

Just curious if anyone in D&D circles has talked about the noticeable lack of D&D in season 3, almost a total rejection of our beloved hobby?

What I really disliked is they treated it like it was a game just for kids. They just gave away all their DnD stuff to a younger generation as if it's a symbol of growing up and putting away childish things. They didn't invite and teach the younger kids to play with them, they just gave them the game and said have fun.

Yeah, definitely seemed like D&D was relegated to "kid stuff". Too bad. Especially since D&D helped put Stranger Things on the map.

I didn't remember giving away their stuff. It's been awhile since I watched it.

But in that era that was probably what a lot of young gamers did. Maybe they came back to it in College, but maybe they don't. I think Season 3 did a pretty good job of the "growing pains" both as kids becoming teens and as people dealing with some really strange stuff.

Some of my best gaming took place in High School, but everyone's different.
