SALEM, ORE.: It was a strange affair at an Oregon state park, according to the police in Salem, Ore. Some 150 nude women were there for what witnesses described as a ceremony of a bizarre nature, complete with symbols they put down to Satanism. While authorities looked into claims that the women were fondling each other, officers have determined no law was transgressed.
But occult specialists are cautioning that this is not just a West Coast phenomenon. They point to small towns in Middle America as potential hotbeds for secret covens to go about their business unobserved by the common man. With old cemeteries and woods on the edge of town, plus a rising vogue for witchcraft and local lore to add to the mystery, these places make for convenient cover.
One has to wonder if the quiet hometown is next. Do not be fooled by appearances; the witch in your neighborhood may bear little resemblance to the stereotype. She could be the teacher or the housewife, or perhaps a college student, even the one who sits with your daughter in homeroom.
As it turns out, this is a true story!

Must be some strange new definition of "nude" I was not previously aware of...
It's a supermarket tabloid. Gotta maintain my family-friendly mode here.
Immediately reminded of Pandemonium, which is absolutely the best RPG about playing sensationalist tabloid news reporters that Atlas Games refuses to sell to people any more. Could we at least get a pdf version already?
There was also the Tabloid game book for TSR's Amazing Engine, but that was just sad by comparison. It's like they'd read Pandemonium and decided to do exactly the same thing, only without all the absurdist humor. So not the same thing at all.
Dick McGee, yes I know both games well. Had both at one time.
