Gary Greenwald and Phil Philips talk about the evils of toys from the 80s.
Just watch.
Shorter version here:
Holy crap!
I have never seen so many jumps to conclusions in my life. Followed only by how many words they get wrong. Or details of the toy lines. Or anything related to reality.
Can we stop using the word "Occultic"!! "Occult" is all you need.
It's "Eternia" not "Ethernia". "Necomancy" not "Necromology". It's....oh I give up.
I love how neither one of these idiots can tell the difference between reality and cartoons. Or how "D&D pieces" will scream when burned.
Seriously. You have to watch this. It's insane.
Makes you wonder what they would think of my book!
Don't forget, you can win a copy of my books. Just two more days!

It was because of 80 cartoons, D&D and Boo Berry cereal I became a devil worshipper...oh wait no, that's not right, I am a devout Christian...weird.
ReplyDeleteMy D&D pieces talk to me. I would never think of putting them into the fire. Except the d4. It doesn't have a "6" on it.
ReplyDeleteSeriously, I can't recall when last I heard something as inarticulate as the discussion in this video. My D&D pieces speak more intelligently than these guys.
The whole devil worship thing struck me as especially ridiculous when I first got into the hobby, since I started right before 3E came out. Looking through those books, it completely bewildered me how anyone could connect the game with Satanism. Then I read my friend's copy of the 1E DMG (well, technically it was his stepfather's) and it made a LOT more sense. Still ridiculous, of course, but those 1E books definitely had this feel of authenticity to 'em that I've always appreciated

ReplyDeleteMy D&D pieces talk to me too. Every time I roll a 1 on a d20, I know it's giving me the finger and laughing at me.
