The 3.5 reprints are hitting the shelves soon.
They look nice, very evocative of both the 3.0 and 3.5 covers. Though they lack the "old tome" feel the originals went for, and were often imitated during the entire d20 boom.
I am not sure I will get them though.
I have my 3/3.5 books. I even have the leather bound deluxe 3.5 books. And Pathfinder.
How about you all?
With these being ubiquitous at every Half Price Books in America, I don't see too many people buying a reprint at the full freight.
ReplyDeleteAlready have the first printing of 3.0 books. So, not for me.
ReplyDeleteI still have my 3.0, 3.5, 3.5 delux leatherbound, and Pathfinder books. I don't see the need for the reprints.
ReplyDeleteI suspect there's an audience for them (possibly current Pathfinder players who have no D&D books?).
ReplyDeleteYou mean that people still buy physical stacks of paper with in on them? How old-school!
ReplyDeleteNope. I already have the originals and would rather spend the bread on new stuff from the OSR.
ReplyDeleteSeeing how I offed my 3.0/3.5 core books at my FLGS when they were newly out of print and was greatly rewarded for doing so, it's nice to see them in print. However, and this is a gigantic however, I own Pathfinder and its various supplements. So, nah, not going to do it. Plus, I'm freaking broke.
ReplyDeleteI will be purchasing these. I do already have my original core books, but since I play in and run a few campaigns to this day, having a few extras on hand is a good idea. And band-new copies with nice bindings beats second-hand scribbled-in ebay offerings any day.
ReplyDeleteI think people who prefer D&D to Pathfinder will be happy that they can walk into a game store and buy these once again. I know I am.
