Very busy day. Everyone has crashed early. I am taking some time to sit down a look over the campaign material for the next few adventures comparing it with all the material I want to use and something dawned on me.
I am not quite ready to give up 3.x just yet.
Don't get me wrong, I love my 4e game and my Pathfinder playing helps fill some of that need. But as a DM there is still so much ground to cover, so much I can still do.
Maybe it is just the lack of caffeine or just having a huge investment of 3.x books looking back at me.
I am sure I'll find something to do with it all.
Have you ever looked over Castles and crusades? I think of it as Old school sensibility with 3E math.
ReplyDeleteI would think if any one could appreciate that it would be you.
Ah, I also some investment in 3E. And despite the sudden increase in Feat complexity, the explosion of prestige clases, I quite liked it.
ReplyDeleteThe d20 mechanic for everything + the options for cross-class leveling really worked for me.
Of course, I never spent on anything 3.5 or 4.0.
There's still so much in there that I, personally, have barely scratched the surface of.
ReplyDeleteThe other day I was looking over Magic of Incarnum and, from a refreshed, more experienced gaming perspective, that stuff is awesome.
