Does "modern" refer to the time period of the game's assumed setting, and if so where's the dateline - post 2000? Last ten years? 1980s? 1990s? <br /><br />Or does "modern" refer to some kind of design sensibility - and again, if so then what defines that? Is Nightlife or Vampire the Masquerade modern? Ravenloft? Call of Cthulhu? Kult? OSR certainly doesn't feel mechanically modern to me at all, it's running on cobbled together pieces of disparate engines as old as RPGs themselves are.<br /><br />I suppose it doesn't matter much in terms of this post, but I'd like to be sure what you're talking about in the broader scheme of things.
