Its a good system though so I think thats cool

I am not as sanguine about this one as I found True Sorcery awfully complex for my needs.

Systems like this and to a greater degree Ryan Nock's Elements of Magic are time consuming to make spells for and my players seem to be disinterested as well .

Even in my Buffy/Angel games with its simpler but elegant spell creation system, my players simply stuck to a couple of potent spells and ignored making or researching them even after they were well aware I was pretty generous .

In 2 years of play am pretty sure other than the shielding spell (Aegis of Glory) a blast spell (Call the Light of Helios) and a single cleaning spell (Invocation of the Servants Hygiena, aka Scrubbing Bubbles ,all of which I'll have to write up some time) they pretty much ignored magic in favor of TK.

They also eschewed playing Mage and the one attempt at Ars Magica failed too so its a them thing.

I kind of wasn't bothered though. Less work for me that way ;)5stonegameshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10694550968360550229noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7913319789564397699.post-19554543286350137542011-01-12T09:34:59.231-06:002011-01-12T09:34:59.231-06:00Forgetting: I had not really thought about that to...Forgetting: I had not really thought about that to be honest. I think I would rather go with the idea that casting is draining on one's mental resources.

For the limit on spells in the library, I think something like the Occult Library Quality from Buffy/Ghosts of Albion might be a good fit. Make it a feat.Timothy S. I've always considered replacing powers with BESM magic a good idea but now I have another option.

Can you forget spells or cast from books (at a disadvantage)? You put a limit on spells know but not on spells in the library.Pulp Herbhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02486803457210325703noreply@blogger.com
