Th...Ugh. HEX. I love this game. I hate this game.

The Ubiquity system isn't terrible...it's got a lot of nice bits (though it gets a bit too crunchy at times (as I think the example of the dude hunting the tyrannosaurus shows). For my money, I don't find the characters get enough points at chargen to model true pulpy characters.

But the part that really bites is the lack of clear-cut objectives baked into the game. I've blogged about that before:
http://bxblackrazor.blogspot.com/2011/09/objecting-to-objectives.html

Still like the concept. Still own the book (and Secrets of the Surface World). Still think they're beautiful, well-made products. But it has some stumbling blocks for me.JBhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03263662621289630246noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7913319789564397699.post-39464987848371962032015-07-06T16:21:19.978-05:002015-07-06T16:21:19.978-05:00Mentioned that because once my players wanted to r...Mentioned that because once my players wanted to ride down the river Styx...Dr. Thedahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16437013120611829846noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7913319789564397699.post-2658154952588881102015-07-06T16:20:07.238-05:002015-07-06T16:20:07.238-05:00Around the turn of the last century the belief in ...Around the turn of the last century the belief in a "Hollow Earth" was even believed by some major scientists... and more recent years has seen "Conspiracy Theories" of this ... gain a new generation of "believers"....
Cool that they made a RPG out of this idea... we always used expanded "Underdark" (box set) and with bits of the upper Hells coming into play very deep...
